Clean Waves & Good Vibes at the ProSayulita Stand Up Paddle Open 2023!

The 2023 edition of the ProSayulita SUP Open, held March 10-12 at Playa Central in Sayulita, Nayarit, brought together wave lovers and the best SUP surfers from Mexico and around the world to compete for the prestigious gold medal.
Athletes competing for the top spots in the Distance Race, Technical Competition and SUP Surf Competition categories were welcomed by the gentle waves of the Mexican Pacific Ocean and the sunny days of the Riviera Nayarit.
The ProSayulita SUP Open is considered the biggest sporting celebration of surfing and paddleboarding culture in Sayulita. Sports personalities like SUP pioneer in Mexico and two-time winner of the World SUP Racing Fernando Stalla support the competition.
Concurrent activities this year included a martial arts workshop with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend Jonatas Novaes, an intensive SUP clinic with Waterman Tahiti Tour Champion Henere Harrys, and two Save Our Surf cleanup days at Playa Central.

The ProSayulita SUP Open is organized by ProSayulita, a local non-profit organization that is proactive in the improvement of the quality of life for the people in and around the Sayulita community. Their focus is on Community Service, the Environment and Infrastructure (Facilities).
ProSayulita deserves special mention for their ability to respond and help in the face of disasters such as the hurricane which struck the area in 2022, raising more than $100,000 USD to help the affected population.
